Went to my first club of this type last night.
This one is up in Columbus, called "The Pineapple Club", and it was a blast!
It was Karaoke night so I even managed to get the wife to come along to check things out.
I must say it was not what I expected. Then again, I am not sure exactly what I expected either. IT had almost a house party feel to it and everyone was very friendly. The staff gave us a full tour of the place and happily answered any questions we had.
Admittedly this was more of a reconnaissance trip to see if we liked it and felt comfortable there, so we were not planning anything more daring than getting up to sing. So that is exactly what we did and look forward to going back.
To all the gang up there, thank you so much for making us feel so welcome without giving off the vibe of "ooooo fresh meat".

Yeah. I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I had to get it off my chest.
So just when I had come to grips with people not bothering to read profiles, something that would answer most questions before even saying "hi", After all, maybe someone has some flexibility to what they say in their profile or haven't updated it in a while.
Sadly, I encountered a new low in the just plain rudeness of not reading.
I am conversing with someone who is obviously NOT even paying attention to my side of the conversation.
When asked to tell more about myself I mention a few things that are in my profile trying to head off that little bit of frustration. I said I was in an open marriage. the very next response from this person was, "So how long have you been single?"
Seriously?
I mean I have been on other sites that freely admit in the fine print that they use AI to add more "people" to talk to that pay more attention! This is just ridiculous.

After of using sites like this I, like so many, have experienced the dread of bot, spammers, "professionals", and the like that flood my mail and IMs. It goes with the territory.
I know this site does what it can to police this, but there is only so much they can do.
So I came up with my own solution and boy has it cut down on the "noise" that can be so irritating.
Below I will show you what I currently have at the beginning of my profile. Feel free to "steal" it and use it. My hope is it makes your experience here and at any other site you may use more enjoyable.
The Dude Abides 
This will probably cut down my chances but I am not exactly in a rush. Quality over quantity is my goal. The first time you contact me, show me that you aren't a drive by and that you read SOME of my profile. Tell me something you read, tip me, like my status, whatever. Otherwise your comment goes into the "didn't follow the rules file". Sorry but I am tired of fake accounts spamming me. All pics I upload or send are genuine so please extend me the same courtesy. There are ways to check and I do report abuse.
